Ingredion Participates in First Equality at Work Symposium Since the Pandemic
Members of Ingredion's PRIDE business resource group (BRG) served as co-sponsors and planners of the first Equalty at Work Symposium since the pandemic. Hosted by Garden State Equality, the largest LGBTQ+ advocacy organization in New Jersey, the symposium aims to foster collaboration among corporate change-makers while drawing inspiration from industry leaders who promote diversity and inclusion best practices. The event focuses on enhancing employee resource groups, advocating for inclusive workplace policies, and developing comprehensive recruitment and workforce development programs.
"It was a tremendous honor to be brought onto the team to help Garden State Equality build the programming for this event, the first time hosting the Equality at Work Symposium since the pandemic," said Harper Hall (he/they), global flavor applications and technical service lead and North America lead of PRIDE. "This event has led to more growth and connectivity for Ingredion as part of a larger ecosystem with global employee resource group connections to Haleon and Live Out Loud, serving LGBTQIA+ youth aged 13-18, to name a couple," said Hall.
Hall, a featured panel speaker during a breakout session, discussed the significance of driving corporate change from within an organization. "Each time I can be on stage on behalf of Ingredion's BRG and DEI initiatives, I feel part of so much more," he said. "Thank you to Ingredion for sponsoring this event and allowing me to volunteer with GSE and speak on a wonderful panel."
Established in 2004, Garden State Equality is considered to be one of the most successful statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organizations in the nation, with over 150,000 members.
