Ingredion's Shanghai plant is the Company's first facility to receive EXCiPACT certification. EXCiPACT certification is a globally recognized third-party endorsement based on the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distributor Practice (GDP) standards. The Company received the sought-after certification after a rigorous audit by an independent third party.

Specifically tailored for pharmaceutical EXCiPACT production enterprises, the certificate's credibility is upheld by several global regulatory bodies, including the European Union, the US Food and Drug Administration, and the UK Medicines and the Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, among others.

"The EXCiPACT program enhances transparency and safety in pharmaceutical production, facilitating a rise in the quality of excipients throughout the supply chain," said Pushpavalli Krishnamurthy, regulatory manager of pharma legal at Ingredion. "Therefore, it instills greater confidence in excipient quality and supply chain security."

The certification enables Ingredion to negotiate Pharma Excipient GMP audit proposals with our customers, reducing the audit burden on our plants and providing significant time and cost savings. 

As the proud recipient of the EXCiPACT certificate, the Shanghai plant remains committed to maintaining the high standards mandated by the certification requirements.
