Imagine living in a place where clean water is a luxury, where searching for and collecting it requires machinery and manpower you don't have. In Kenya's drought-stricken northern region of Marsabit, this is a daily challenge for thousands, especially children. Ingredion has teamed up with Partners for Care to purchase water tankers, providing safe water for thousands of children.

Partners for Care is a non-profit organization working to achieve the goal of eliminating preventable diseases—including malaria, HIV/AIDS, waterborne illnesses and malnutrition—and to educate children and adults across Kenya. The charity uses tankers to source water from nearby mountains, with each tanker providing enough water for 95 families, which is distributed in water-storage backpacks. Ingredion purchased 32 water tankers as well as a water storage pack for 32 Marsabit schools, providing students and their families with clean water.
