Hamburg facility awarded EcoVadis Gold!
Ingredion’s Hamburg facility has achieved its first ever Gold medal from the EcoVadis assessment for leadership in sustainability initiatives by scoring in the top 5% of more than 130,000 companies globally.
EcoVadis is a global platform that evaluates companies' sustainability initiatives across four key themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
Ingredion’s Hamburg facility advanced from a Silver to Gold rating by meeting more stringent standards. This achievement reflects the site’s strong performance, particularly in its Integrated Management Systems (such as ISO 14000), and the expansion of both Ingredion’s and Hamburg’s documented policies and procedures aligned with key sustainability benchmarks.
Notably, this was also the first assessment to leverage a new AI-powered tool, which facilitated cross-regional knowledge sharing and significantly improved the speed and consistency of the project team’s contributions.
“This Gold rating is a proud moment for Hamburg and for Ingredion,” said Janin Zippel, sustainability manager in EMEA. “It reflects the high standards we hold ourselves to, and it matters to our customers. Sustainability performance is increasingly a factor in commercial decisions, and achievements like this help us grow stronger partnerships and win new opportunities.”
Janin concluded, “This recognition is more than a badge. It strengthens Ingredion’s position as a trusted partner in sustainable supply chains and supports long-term growth with key customers.”
