Celebrating 90 Years of Ingredion Colombia

Ingredion Colombia marked 90 years of operation with a commemorative ceremony in Cali with awards, recognitions and a contribution to the El Gato del Rio Sculpture Park with a new feline sculpture. More than 180 attendees, including employees, leaders, customers, suppliers and government representatives, joined the celebration. 

The Company received two prestigious awards from the Colombian government for its work. First, the Government of Valle del Cauca awarded the Company with the Valle del Cauca Order of Merit 'Gran Cruz' for contributing to the progress and strengthening of the regional economy. Colombia's House of Representatives awarded the Company the Simón Bolívar Order of Democracy, in the degree of Cruz Comendador, for the Company's commitment to well-being, social transformation and sustainability and for serving as a model of the country's agri-industrial sector.

Rob Ritchie QuoteDuring the celebration, Ingredion also received recognition from various local, regional and governmental organizations, honoring the Company's work in the area over the last 90 years.

One of the most iconic moments was when Jorge Zapata, Ingredion Colombia's general manager, Andean Region, presented to Stefanía Doglioni, tourism minister of Cali, "Cat Ingrid," a sculpture made by artist María Fernanda Cuartas.

The sculpture is in the El Gato del Rio Sculpture Park next to the Cali River, along with other celebrated cat sculptures by Colombian artists. This gift was donated by Ingredion as a token of gratitude and affection to the municipality, which from the Salomia neighborhood, witnessed the expansion of the company in Colombia.
