50 Years of Partnership: Growing a Sustainable Future
“It starts with the corn,” says Jim Zallie, Ingredion’s president and CEO. For 50 years, that simple truth has guided our enduring partnership with Indiana’s Lamb Farms. Today, as we expand our investment and operations in Indianapolis, we’re honoring that legacy while embracing a future rooted in sustainability.
Buying waxy corn from Indiana growers such as Lamb Farms is a strategic advantage for Ingredion because, through our operations in Indianapolis, we are able to realize our “locally sourced and locally produced” strategy.
The collaboration between Lamb Farms and Ingredion goes beyond business—it’s about stewardship. Together, we’re implementing practices that protect the land and enrich the soil: no-till farming to reduce erosion, cover crops to improve soil health, regenerative agriculture to restore ecosystems, composting to recycle nutrients, and fostering biodiversity to strengthen resilience. These efforts ensure that every acre supports both productivity and environmental responsibility.
From the Indiana cornfields to our Indianapolis facility, this partnership demonstrates that progress and care for the planet can thrive side by side. When sustainability starts at the source, the possibilities are endless—and together, we’re shaping a future that benefits farmers, communities, and generations to come.
